In this episode, Sophie and I discuss relationships in the context of changing dynamics and supporting your partner — all of the stuff that can change in your everyday life that nobody really warned you about when you ‘first signed up.’

Our guest today, Kelly LeVeque, helps us illustrate this idea really well. Kelly and her husband have really mastered working together in their relationship and supporting each other in everything that they do — they even both took the dramatic leap of pursuing their passions at the exact same time!

Join Sophie and I as we learn about Kelly’s profession as a holistic nutritionist and wellness expert who’s the head of her own consulting business. She tells us all about how she discovered her passion and got started in her business, the work dynamic between her husband and her, and the process of writing a book together, as well as her self-care rituals and healthy-living tips.

Relationship Tip of the Week

This concept, once we applied it, was when most of our major breakthroughs in our relationship happened. The concept? You have to get comfortable with ‘going in for the punch.’ During a fight, we get used to always taking the stance of either attacking or defending. This is the exact opposite of what your partner needs. What they actually want is the feeling of intimacy and love — even when they’re in that position of attacking or defending. Go in with your arms down in the fight, knowing you’re going to get hurt, and this will allow you to have the conversation you need. The minute you put your gloves down, magic can happen.
