Today our topic is all about parenting — our techniques, approach, and philosophies. We want to talk about parenting concepts that have worked for us and hopefully will benefit you guys. We’re big on the notion of really noticing and paying attention and embracing our children’s needs and wants while maintaining structure within the home. We think it’s very important to find that middle ground of letting your kid be who they are while still setting appropriate boundaries.

This episode, we dive deep into parenting topics and discuss boundaries, societal expectations, allowing your kids to create the life they love and nurturing that, and keeping yourself in check as the parent to always do what’s right for your children to allow them to flourish and become the best version of themselves.

Topics Discussed:

[:55] About our topic today: parenting.

[9:12] Expectations, parenting styles, and letting your kid be who they are.

[31:22] Helping our kids to become considerate of others.

[33:18] Relationship tip of the week!

Relationship Tip of the Week

Don’t assume you’ll be on the same page about schooling and parenting (in general). Talk about your parenting expectations. Whether you’re planning on becoming parents or are already parents — or about to become parents — sit down and have discussions in terms of how you see your kid’s life playing out. What kind of schools do they go to, how they play, technology use, extracurriculars, etc. Discuss the things that are important to you as well as deal breakers. It’s a lot easier to make these decisions before you’re forced to make them.
