This episode is not for the faint of heart. If you’ve been following us for a while, you know our story — but in this episode, we go deep and discuss every little detail.

We discuss everything that Sophie and I have been through — and we’ve been through a lot. We’re putting it all out there because we want you to know that sometimes things can get really bad before they get really good. Sophie and I have had our major ups and downs, but we want to show you the light at the end of the tunnel and offer you some hope.

Our story is big, traumatic, scary, and completely life-changing — it has flipped both of our lives upside down. It involves sex addiction, cheating, infidelity, betrayal, trust, and love. This type of story is exactly why we started this podcast; This is what drives us to continue to tell our story in knowing that we can help to make a difference in people’s lives.

Though we’re past our tribulations now, elements continue to show up in our lives daily and so we’re constantly growing and learning as a couple. And out of these challenges has come serious growth.

It doesn’t get any more raw than this.

Topics Discussed:

[:28] A pre-introduction to today’s show.

[1:37] An introduction to what we’re going to talk about today: our story about sex addiction, cheating, betrayal, trust, and love.

[6:20] Jumping into our story, starting from when we met.

[10:18] Our first bump in the road and subsequent breakup.

[17:20] Reconnecting and spotting the mug (“What would you do if you could not fail?”) that changed everything.

[20:50] Getting back together; more trials and tribulations, growing together and making changes in our relationship, and getting engaged.

[29:38] Getting married, seeing therapists for sex addiction and couple therapy, recalibrating our intimacy, and pregnancy. And the next major bump in the road.

[38:56] Moving on and healing: Rehab, therapy, and support groups.

[42:13] Touching on the low points: putting everything out in the open, allowing yourself to be seen, and overcoming shame.

[52:41] Sophie’s side of the story: experiencing a disconnect with intimacy in the relationship, and the next level of betrayal and cheating.

[1:07:45] Sophie’s fall and recalibrating her sexuality, beginning to heal, and owning her femininity.

[1:14:32] Learning and growing having come out of this difficult experience.

[1:18:29] What to do when your support system (family and friends) don’t back you up.

[1:19:34] You can’t rush the process of healing. You need time, radical transparency, and a willingness to be vulnerable.
